Enhancing the use of Copernicus data in Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe

Innovation has a very important role in identifying opportunities. In this context, RedCLARA, GÉANT and the NRENs of both continents are organizing an ideathon with the aim of stimulating the collaborative generation of ideas that allow promoting the use of Copernicus data in the solution and attention to the great challenges linked to the risk management, environment, climate change, water and land management and food security in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The result we seek with this ideathon is to propose a creative and innovative response to the following general problems:

Participants

The ideathon is aimed at organizations and experts whose field of work is related to the thematic areas of technology included in the activity: Environmental Sciences, Earth and Planetary Sciences, Agricultural and Biometric Sciences, Social Sciences, Engineering and Renewable Energies. They will be invited directly by organizers of the event.

Impact

The ideathon also seeks to have an impact on the development of capacities in the collection and use of data on the two continents, the articulation between Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe that allows the identification of the best actions to effectively promote Copernicus data, the promotion of innovative initiatives in the region, the visibility of the Copernicus Programme and maximizing the use of the infrastructure deployed within the framework of the BELLA Programme.
