Socorro is a town and municipality in the Santander Department in northeastern Colombia. It was founded in 1681 by José de Archila and José Díaz Sarmiento.The town was very influential in the history of Colombia. It is 364 km (6 hours by route) from Bogota (the capital of country) and 121 km (2.30 h) from Bucaramanga (the Department's Capital)

How to get to Socorro from Bogotá

After landing at Dorado International Airport you have to take a taxi and go to Bogotá-Salitre bus main station (Terminal de transportes de Bogotá-Salitre Diagonal 23 #69a - 55). All taxis at Bogotá have taximeters and the ride from the airport to the bus terminal will cost around 18.000 to 25.000 Colombian Pesos (COP), depending on the trafic. At the Modulo 3 of the Bus terminal you can find all bus companies to get to Socorro: BerlinasCopetranAutoboy, and Concorde . The costs of tickets range from 40.000 to 30.000 COP and the trip will last aroung 6hours

How to get to Socorro from Bucaramanga

After landing at Palo Negro International Airport you have to go by taxi to the Bus Terminal. Authorized taxis are availables at the main exit of the airport and cost a flat rate of 32.000 COP. Once at the Bucaramanga bus station you can find all bus companies to get to Socorro: BerlinasCopetran and Autoboy. Tickets cost range from 18.000 to 21.000 COP and the trip last around 3 hours.
