Es Investigador Científico en el Centro de Investigaciones Energéticas Medioambientales y Tecnológicas (CIEMAT) y miembro del Instituto de Ciencias de la Computación Aplicadas de la Universidad de Harvard. Es el responsable de la Unidad de Informática Científica del CIEMAT e Investigador Principal del grupo Sci-Track (http://rdgroups.ciemat.es/web/sci-track/). Sus principales líneas de investigación son la computación de altas prestaciones, informática científica y física computacional. Recibió su doctorado por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, España.

Gilberto J. Diaz Toro
Administrador Jefe de Sistemas, UIS
C.T.O of the High Performance and Scientific Computing Center at Universidad Industrial de Santander in Colombia. He is a very known and prestigious International instructor on HPC and Scalable Architectures, Gilberto is one of the most experience people in HPC in Latin America, with more of 20 years in continuous contribution, in teaching, developing and researching. He is also assistant professor of the Engineering Systems and Informatics School at UIS and co-founder of the Supercomputing and Distributed Systems Camping School, SC-Camp and co-chair of different conferences and workshops related with advanced computing.

Carlos Gamboa
Coordinador Científico de la Red Avanzada de Costa Rica
Ingeniero en Computación del Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica (ITCR). Actual coordinador científico de la Red Avanzada de Costa Rica (RedCONARE), también investigador en el Colaboratorio Nacional de Computación Avanzada del Centro Nacional de Alta Tecnología. Sus trabajos se enfocan en algoritmos paralelos para ensamblajes de genomas y análisis estadísticos de datos. Es también profesor asistente en la escuela de Ingeniería en Computación del ITCR.

Harold Castro Barrero
Prof. Titular, Uniandes
Ingeniero de Sistemas y Computación de la Universidad de los Andes. D.E.A. y Doctor en Informática de l’Institute National Polytechnique de Grenoble, Francia. Aparte de sus actividades de docencia y dirección de tesis de pregrado, maestría y doctorado, es director del grupo COMIT (http://sistemas.uniandes.edu.co) de la misma universidad, cuyo uno de sus temas principales de investigación son los sistemas distribuidos, en especial Computación de Alto rendimiento (HPC) . Ha liderado y participado en diferentes proyectos de consultoría para apoyar la introducción de nuevas tecnologías en organizaciones colombianas. Dirige diferentes actividades en el área de cloud computing y HPC, y ha sido coordinador nacional de proyectos de carácter internacional para el establecimiento de una plataforma de HPC entre Europa y Latinoamérica. Sus intereses son: HPC, sistemas distribuidos y Cloud Computing. |

Carlos Jaime Barrios Hernandez

PhD, is Assistant Professor of the Informatics and Systems Engineering School and Director of the High Performance and Scientific Computing Center from Universidad Industrial de Santander in Colombia, at same time general chair of the Advanced Computing System for Latin America and Caribbean. Carlos Jaime is a High Performance and Scientific Computing Consultant, an e-architectures researcher, and is currently processing visualization. He is co-founder of the Supercomputing and Distributed System Camping School, SC-Camp, co-chair and co-founder of different international actions as the Latin American conference on HPC, CARLA. He is DLI Ambassador and Fellow of NVIDIA. |
